Health and Safety for Farming Industry
This online training program was prepared to assist employers, workers, worker representatives, members of Joint Health and Safety Committees (JHSC), supervisors, and suppliers on farming operations who have duties under the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) in Ontario. This training program was developed to provide general answers to questions that may be asked and introduce you to the requirements under OHSA. It is up to each person who has responsibilities under the Occupational Health and Safety Act to determine what is necessary to comply with the Act in their workplaces specific. This course will introduce small business owners and managers to development and management of a health and safety program for small businesses. Through practical information, tips and strategies to identify hazards and manage risks you will learn how to develop a health and safety program including emergency planning and hazard management.

This course provides an understanding of what a health and safety representative is and what is required under the provincial Occupational Health and Safety Act for workers, H&S Representatives and Management. Recognized by WSIB and the Ministry of Labour, this program covers: Introduction to OHS, Legislation, Occupational Health and Safety Committees & Representatives, Hazard Recognition Evaluation and Control, and Workplace Inspections.
